World of Warcraft marks the tenth anniversary of the Warcraft franchise. In a break from the series' traditional real-time strategy gameplay, World of Warcraft takes gamers into an online world in this MMORPG.

The action begins four years after the events of Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos. Azeroth is ravaged and a great tension sits uncomfortably over the land. As the different races attempt to rebuild their kingdoms and their lives new evils arise, throwing Azeroth once more into peril. Players must hone their skills, explore the landscape and forge alliances to combat the ancient and terrible evils plaguing Azeroth.

Players enter into the shared realm of World of Warcraft where they must build an avatar to represent them in the online community. Earlier missions and challenges will allow individual players to succeed in their quests single-handedly. As skill points and money are earned, however, the challenges become greater and the threats more deadly. Teamwork will be a necessity, with players forming alliances to compliment each other's skills.

It's not all about being the strongest and most experienced, however. The simple and intuitive user interface makes the game accessible to both hardcore fans and casual gamers alike. The game also includes support for advanced graphics hardware, so expect to see an immersive and lovingly rendered world. Adding to that is a game architecture capable of supporting vast numbers of players simultaneously, so gamers will be able to work with or take on any number of friends from all over the world.
