FIFA 2000 invites the PC player to challenge the evolution of football. Fully integrated seasons consist of league and cup matches in one schedule, where you can suffer relegation, earn promotion and gain advancement into European competition for the next season. There are up-to-date teams for over eighteen domestic leagues from around the world, including the biggest of hitters, such as Leeds United, Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Port Vale. Thats right, Port Vale, a concession to the presence of uber-lad Robbie Williams on the games soundtrack. If you cant find a contemporary side that suits you, there are also forty-plus classic national and club teams to choose from, and if you play well enough, the top ten teams of all time will be revealed.
As far as graphics and gameplay are concerned, EA Sports consistently high standards are maintained in FIFA 2000, and the PC version is a visual treat. Goal celebrations are suitably over-the-top, and some of the challenges you are allowed to make on the opposition are brutal to say the least. The BBCs John Motson and Mark Lawrenson will let you know what they think of your tough approach in no uncertain terms.
Electronic Arts sports titles are always worth more than a cursory glance, and FIFA 2000 is certainly one of the better footy titles available on PC. Hugely playable and lovely to look at, FIFA 2000 is a must-have for even the most casual of soccer fans.
